Pe scenă. Scurtă analiză a existenței omului în societatea lui I. L. Caragiale
Abstract: (On Stage. Short analysis of the human existence in Caragiale’s society) The characters in Caragiale's works serve as representations of the various types of people we encounter in our everyday life, in different situations. For a better understanding of the needs of the characters, I thought that it is necessary to observe them, maybe recalling them from memories, but I focused on analyzing the human lifestyle, with a focus on contrasting the personalities created with such accuracy by Ion Luca Caragiale with those found today. This theme constitutes, moreover, the personal necessity to answer my question: has Caragiale's man, the humbug, found alternatives to overcome the condition of life in today's society? Or has he remained a prisoner of his own limits, of his own illusion? If in his four comedies we put up with themes as the fight for political power, relationships based on social or political interests, the differences between social classes, ambition, betrayal, adultery, manipulation in and out of love, opportunism, lies, then the only way to sweeten the already complicated situations is to satirize man's attempts at his inability to change anything. Moreover, the performances staged in theater institutions aim not only to pay tribute to a great writer, but also to create a manifesto in order to raise awareness of social, political or educational crises through the artistic act.

Rezumat: Personajele lui Caragiale constituie tipologii de caracter pe care le întâlnim și în viața de zi cu zi, în diferite situații. Pentru a înțelege interesele sau nevoile unui personaj am considerat necesară observarea lor, poate evocarea lor din amintiri, dar am pus accentul pe analiza stilului de viață al omului, cu insistență pe stiluri comparative între caracterele conturate cu atâta precizie de Ion Luca Caragiale și cele întâlnite astăzi. Tema aceasta constituie, de altfel, necesitatea personală de a-mi răspunde la întrebarea: omul lui Caragiale, moftangiul, și-a găsit alternative de autodepășire a condiției de viață în societatea de azi? Sau a rămas prizonierul propriilor limite, al propriilor iluzii? Dacă în cele patru comedii ale autorului întâlnim teme precum lupta pentru putere politică, relații bazate pe interes social sau politic, diferențele de clase sociale, ambiția, trădarea, adulterul, manipularea în și din dragoste, oportunismul, minciuna, atunci singurul mod de îndulcire a situațiilor deja complicate este constituit de satirizarea încercărilor omului în neputința lui de a schimba ceva. De altfel, spectacolele montate în instituțiile teatrale își propun nu numai omagierea unui mare scriitor, dar și realizarea unui manifest în vederea conștientizării crizelor sociale, politice sau educaționale prin intermediul actului artistic.
