La voz del traductor en Corazón tan blanco de Javier Marías
Abstract (The voice of translator in Heart so white by Javier Marías): In the current work we plan to investigate the role and the importance of the author-translator and translator to Romanian of the novel Heart so white by Javier Marías, famous contemporary writer and also a professor, translator, interpreter, screenwriter and author of television reports. As stated by the same author, “the key is to identify the words as people if you want to treat them.” The wide and profound knowledge of the language, his immense literary talent and his translator skills fit perfectly in the novel of Javier Marías, thus resulting in a polyphonic voice. We reflect on the configuration of this kind of polyphony, on the limits and difficulties of translation, on spontaneous oral discourse, on prefabricated oral discourse, on the speaking and the silence, on the interlacement of the text and metatext voices, namely the author’s and the translator’s voice. And also upon the messages transmitted through language, multidisciplinary cultural vehicle.

Resumen: En el presente trabajo nos proponemos investigar el papel y la importancia del autor-traductor y del traductor al rumano en la novela Corazón tan blanco de Javier Marías, famoso escritor contemporáneo, a la vez profesor, traductor e intérprete, guionista y autor de reportajes televisivos. Tal como afirmaba el mismo autor, “lo fundamental es individualizar los vocablos como a las personas si uno quiere tratarlas.”1 El amplio y profundo conocimiento de la lengua, su inmenso talento literario y sus dotes de traductor se ajustan de manera perfecta en la novela de Javier Marías, que tiene como resultado una voz polifónica. Reflexionaremos sobre la configuración de este tipo de polifonía, sobre los límites y las dificultades de la traducción, sobre el discurso oral espontáneo y el discurso oral prefabricado, sobre el hablar y el callar, sobre el entrelazamiento de las voces del texto y del metatexto, es decir la del autor y la del traductor. Y también sobre los mensajes que se transmiten a través de la lengua, vehículo cultural multidisciplinar.
