Un anno sull’ Altipiano nella versione in lingua spagnola del 1937
Abstract: (Un anno sull'Altipiano by Emilio Lussu, the Spanish Translation and its Argentinean Edition) The paper focuses on the Spanish translation of Un anno sull’Altipiano by Emilio Lussu, published in 1937 in Buenos Aires with the title Un año de guerra. The objective of this paper is on the one hand to specify the origin and the period when this book was written, and on the other hand to investigate its meaning as a link between the European Romània and the Romance cultural system that even crosses the European borders. At this point it is important to emphasize that this book was published first in Argentina and afterwards in France in Italian language. Even today the critcs consider this last edition as the first published. This paper will focus on the Spanish edition of Lussu’s book and on the letters of Gaetano Salvemini, Carlo Rosselli and Emilio Lussu that were written between March 1935 and December 1937. The above mentioned (unpublished or partially published) correspondence of the writers and politicians reveal new and important elements related to the genesis, to linguistic aspects and to editorial strategies. In these epistolary the relationship between Emilio Lussu and the Austrian journalist Oda OlbergLerda emerges. She offered a vital contribution to the publication of the book at a socialist newspaper based in Buenos Aires.

Riassunto: L’articolo verte sulla traduzione in lingua spagnola di Un anno sull’Altipiano di Emilio Lussu, pubblicata nel 1937 a Buenos Aires con il titolo Un año de guerra. Definendo con precisione la genesi e i tempi di tale operazione letteraria si afferma che l'edizione argentina dell’opera di Lussu anticipa quella parigina in lingua italiana del 1938, fino ad oggi considerata dalla critica come la prima ad essere pubblicata. Tale affermazione è giustificata dalla attenta e puntuale ricostruzione, operata attraverso l’analisi di materiale edito ed inedito, dell’intera vicenda editoriale. Il contributo è pertanto incentrato sia sull’esame dell’edizione del libro in lingua spagnola che sulla documentazione relativa alla corrispondenza intercorsa tra Gaetano Salvemini, Carlo Rosselli ed appunto Emilio Lussu tra il marzo del 1935 e il dicembre del 1937. Da tale carteggio, contenente contributi ancora inediti o solo parzialmente utilizzati dagli studiosi, emergono nuovi ed importanti elementi che gettano nuova luce sulla genesi dell’opera e sulle strategie editoriali. Le informazioni che vi sono contenute sono infatti essenziali per ripercorrere le tappe che portarono alla pubblicazione nel 1937 dell’edizione argentina. Infatti in questi rapporti epistolari emerge il rapporto che lo scrittore sardo ebbe con la giornalista austriaca Oda OlbergLerda, che offrì un contributo fondamentale alla pubblicazione dell’opera e alla sua traduzione in lingua spagnola presso un giornale socialista con sede a Buenos Aires.
