Reprimare şi etalare în construcţia identităţii culturale latine
Abstract: (Repression and Exposure in the Latin Cultural Identity Construction) The investigation of the generic program of the Latin literature is an operation relevant for determining the modalities through which the main selection of genres and aesthetic attitudes, styles and rhetorical effects were realized within this culture. The obsession with which this literature program was oriented towards the assimilation of the major genres (such as the historiography and the epopee), systematically repressing any temptation to minor genres, denounces the will and also the need of the Romans to expose a symbolic aura of the military glory. In this context, however, the phenomenon of the erotic elegy occurs by force and with the entire complex of meanings which is specific to the return of the repressed, namely, of the eluded emotional body.

Rezumat: Investigarea programului generic al literaturii latine este o operaţie relevant pentru determinarea modului în care s-au realizat, în cadrul acestei culturi, principalele selecţii de genuri şi atitudini estetice, de stiluri şi de efecte retorice. Obsesia cu care programul acestei literaturi s-a orientat către asimilarea unor genuri majore (precum istoriografia şi epopeea), reprimând sistematic orice tentaţie a genurilor minore, denunţă nevoia şi totodată voinţa romanilor de a etala o aură simbolică pe măsura gloriei militare. În acest context însă, fenomenul elegiei erotice survine cu forţa şi cu întregul complex de semnificaţii specific întoarcerii refulatului, şi anume, a corpului emoţional eludat.
