Alianțe și parteneriate romanobarbare în spațiul daco-moesic din secolele III-VI. II: Relațiile dintre elitele daco-romane și cele vizigote
Abstract: (Roman-Barbarian Alliances and Partnerships in the Dacian-Moesic Area throughout the third and sixth centuries AD) The relationships between the Roman Empire and Barbaricum had almost always, but especially after the Military Anarchy, a third, and important political piece: frontier societies and the elites generated by these. Between the IIIrd and VIth centuries, frontier societies no longer limited themselves to passively witness the alliances and confrontations between the Imperial centre and the barbarians, but demonstrated huge potential for political initiative, generating elite that played a decisive role in historical evolution. The Daco-Roman frontier society from the Lower Danube area has interacted, in the first part of this interval, with the visigoth ensemble, generating the cultural-political reality designated as Gothia in ancient sources.

Rezumat: Relațiile dintre Imperiul Roman și Barbaricum au avut întotdeauna, dar mai ales după epoca anarhiei militare, și un alt treilea actor politic de anvergură: societățile de frontieră, respectiv, elitele generate de acestea. În secolele III-VI, societățile de frontieră nu s-au limitat să asiste pasiv la episoadele de confruntare și alianțe dintre centrul imperial și barbari, ci au demonstrat un uriaș potențial de inițiativă politică, generând elite care au avut adesea un rol decisiv în evoluția istorică. Societatea de frontieră daco-romanică de la Dunărea de Jos a interacționat amplu și complex, în prima parte a acestui interval, cu ansamblul vizigotic, generând realitatea cultural-politică desemnată în izvoarele antice drept Gothia.
