Ecuația etno-lingvistică de la Dunărea de Jos, în debutul instituirii hunocrației
Abstract: (The ethno-linguistic equation from the Lower Danube, at the beginning of the establishment of the Hunocracy) Year 376, autumn: After defeating the kingdom of the Ostrogoths in the previous year, the Huns attack the territories west of the Dniester, under the political-military control of the Visigoths. Despite the resistance put up by the troops of judex Athanaric, the Visigoths are overhelmed by the Huns and an impressive number of them - 200,000, according to the sources - hastily take refuge on the right bank of the Danube, where they will cause the first European refugee crisis recorded in history. Relatively well known in its essential data, however, event history is of less interest to us here, our analysis going to emphasize the background ethno-linguistic equation, as critical analysis of the sources reveals.

Rezumat: Anul 376, toamna: După ce au înfrânt în anul precedent regatul ostrogoților, hunii atacă teritoriile de la vest de Nistru, aflate sub controlul politico-militar al vizigoților. În pofida rezistenței opuse de trupele judex-ului Athanaric, vizigoții sunt copleșiți de huni și un număr impresionant dintre ei – 200.000, potrivit izvoarelor – se refugiază în grabă pe malul drept al Dunării, unde vor provoca cea dintâi criză europeană a refugiaților consemnată de istorie. Relativ bine cunoscută în datele sale esențiale, istoria evenimențială ne interesează însă mai puțin aici, analiza noastră urmând să pună accentul pe ecuația etno-lingvistică de fundal, așa cum analiza critică a izvoarelor o relevă.
