Dante e il suo traduttore ungherese, Mihály Babits
Abstract: (Mihály Babits and Dante: Two Exiles in Comparison) The study presents the relationship between the translator and poet Mihály Babits (1883-1941) and Dante. In fact, throughout his life, Babits refers to Dante several times, taking him as a literary model and using him to create a spiritual stronghold against the criticism he had to endure. Furthermore, Babits gave the Hungarian language the second great complete translation of the Divine Comedy, published between 1913 and 1923, a true literary monument that shines with its own light in the field of Hungarian belles-lettres.

Riassunto: Lo studio presenta il rapporto che lega il traduttore e poeta Mihály Babits (1883-1941) e Dante. Infatti, nel corso della propria vita, Babits fa più volte riferimento a Dante, prendendolo come modello letterario e usandolo per creare una roccaforte spirituale contro le critiche che deve subire. Inoltre, Babits regala alla lingua ungherese la seconda, grande traduzione integrale della Divina Commedia, pubblicata tra il 1913 e il 1923, vero e proprio monumento letterario che brilla di luce propria nell’ambito delle belle lettere magiare.
