Il romanzo psicologico La madre di Eva di Silvia Ferreri (2017): interferenze di genere e contrasti tra vita familiare reale e ideale conducono a una nuova Genesi
Abstract: (Silvia Ferreri’s Psychological Novel La madre di Eva (2017):Genre-Interferences and Contrasts between Real and Ideal Family Life Lead to a New Genesis) Silvia Ferreri’s novel La madre di Eva [Eva’s mother], published in L’Aquila in 2017, is an artistic work which finds itself in between the psychological novel and the autobiography-confession, and deals with reflections and thoughts of a mother whose daughter, Eva, presents a gender dysphoria, and therefore decides to have a surgery in order to change gender. It is not just a gender novel, as the action takes place because of Eva’s decision, but the author shows the reader rather feelings and thoughts of the mother who, through a stream of consciousness, looks through her remainders and past decisions the reason of Eva’s so-called-sickness. The mother asks herself about her imperfection, as a mother who gave birth to an incomplete, wrong, creation. The novel presents interesting parallelisms with the Holy Bible: thus, the two characters of Eva and the mother, and their bound, need to be understood as mythical-archetypical characters, representing the relationship between creator and creature, divinity and human being, between God and the first man (and the first woman). The mother takes on herself the suffering of all the mothers of the world, while Eva suffers within a body not her own. The martyrdom and the suffering of the two main characters, Eva and the mother, will lead to overcome the sense of imperfection they feature, thus realizing a new, modern Genesis.

Riassunto: Il romanzo di Silvia Ferreri La madre di Eva (L’Aquila 2017) è un’opera a metà tra il romanzo psicologico e l’autobiografia-confessione, e tratta delle riflessioni e dei pensieri di una madre la cui figlia, Eva, presenta una disforia di genere, e decide quindi di sottoporsi a un’operazione chirurgica per cambiare sesso. Non si tratta di un semplice romanzo di genere, dato che il motore dell’azione è costituito da Eva, ma l’autrice si occupa della narrazione di riflessioni e sentimenti della madre la quale, attraverso il flusso di coscienza, cerca nei propri ricordi e nelle proprie decisioni passate il motivo della presunta malattia di Eva, interrogandosi sulla propria imperfezione in quanto madre che ha dato vita a una creazione incompleta, sbagliata. Il romanzo presenta interessanti parallelismi con le Sacre Scritture. Infatti, i due personaggi di Eva e della madre, e il rapporto che li unisce, vengono a esser caratterizzati in chiave mitico-archetipica, riecheggiando la relazione tra creatore e creazione, tra divinità e essere umano, tra Dio e il primo uomo (e la prima donna). La madre si trova a prendere su di sé la sofferenza di tutte le madri del mondo, mentre Eva soffre in un corpo che non è il suo. Il martirio e la sofferenza delle due figure principali, Eva e la madre, porteranno al superamento del senso di imperfezione che le caratterizza, realizzando così una moderna Genesi.
